Teaching Philosophy

How we teach, and why.

Six convictions that shape every classroom, every mentor session and every parent conversation.

Foundation first, examinations later

Concepts are sequenced so they compound. The entrance examination becomes a milestone the child walks past, not a wall they climb.

Small cohorts, close attention

Class sizes are kept deliberately small so every child is read, questioned and corrected — every week.

Written, individual feedback

Every assessment returns with mentor notes. Parents see the same notes the child does.

The habit of reasoning

Method is taught alongside content. A child who can explain their thinking is a child who can adapt to any examination.

Character and calm

Composure, courtesy and self-direction are treated as academic outcomes — not afterthoughts.

Honest reporting of progress

We tell parents what is working, what isn't, and what we plan to do about it. Always.

The Mentorship Process

How a mentor works with a child.

Step 1

A mentor is assigned

Every new student is paired with a mentor who stays with them through their journey at Screenex.

Step 2

A quiet diagnostic

Strengths, gaps and learning style are mapped over the first two weeks — without pressure on the child.

Step 3

Weekly one-to-one reviews

A scheduled, unhurried review of the week — academic, behavioural and personal.

Step 4

Written feedback to the parent

A monthly mentor letter goes home. Direct, specific and free of jargon.

Step 5

Early, gentle intervention

When progress stalls, we move quickly — additional support before frustration sets in.

Student Support

What a child can rely on at Screenex.

Academic support

Doubt clinics, catch-up sessions and a mentor on call for the questions that surface after class.

Emotional well-being

A calm, attentive pastoral environment. Children are heard before they are corrected.

Exam readiness

Mock interviews, written practice and the quiet rehearsal of composure that examinations reward.

Parent partnership

Parents are kept inside the loop — never on the outside, never surprised at the end of term.

Every successful journey begins with a strong foundation.

Your child's story could become the next chapter in The Screenex Legacy.
